Using your gifts to serve
We’d love to see everyone at TAC using the gifts they have been given to serve God, the church and the community. Sometimes, though, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. We want to help you discern how you can use your gifts and your passions to be an active member of the body of Christ. As a church, we also have particular need in certain areas. Please prayerfully consider how you might be involved.
Current needs
Youth Ministry
One80 leaders (Friday nights)
Youth are often asking big questions about faith. One80 runs on Friday nights during term time. It provides fun and fellowship while allowing young people to explore the role of faith in their lives. Youth leaders are involved in running games, leading youth through Bible studies, praying with them and discipling them as they grow in maturity. One80 has seen exciting growth this year, so it is important to raise up more leaders to ensure that the ministry can continue to grow and flourish.
Mark Baines is our new Assistant Pastor looking after youth, so if you have any questions about the program, feel free to email him (mark@tac.church).
N.B. Team members will require a WWCC and up-to-date Safe Ministry training.
Garage leaders (Sunday mornings)
Garage runs during church on Sunday mornings. It’s a program tailored for youth with activities and a Bible study. We’d love to engage more leaders and helpers as this program grows.
N.B. Team members will require a WWCC and up-to-date Safe Ministry training.
Kids’ Ministry
ToonieKids leaders and helpers (Sunday mornings)
Kids’ ministry is a place where children can learn about Jesus’ love and have fun in an age-appropriate way. We are always looking for more leaders and helpers to help share Jesus with children. ToonieKids Church happens during the morning church services each Sunday.
Rachael Nash is our Children’s Pastor. Feel free to touch base with her if you have questions (rachael@tac.church).
N.B. Team members will require a WWCC and up-to-date Safe Ministry training.
SRE teaching (Wednesday afternoons)
SRE is a wonderful opportunity to serve our community while teaching young people the gospel. This ministry can have a great impact and training is available.
N.B. Teachers will require a WWCC and up-to-date Safe Ministry training. There are also additional training requirements that we can help with.

Welcoming team members
Welcoming helps people feel more comfortable as they encounter our church. It is such an important ministry in helping newcomers connect. Welcoming involves greeting people at the door, helping people with their name-tags and helping newcomers settle into church and kids’ programs. It may also involve helping follow up people who are new to our church.
Thinking about where to serve
A good place to start is to reflect on your gifts and passions. This spiritual gifts questionnaire is designed to help you think about how God has gifted you.
Then take a look at the opportunities below. Particular areas of need are highlighted above and marked with an asterisk below (*).
Our vision is to be united and transformed by the grace of Jesus.
Transformation requires people who know how to teach God’s word to adults and children while also listening, praying and asking good questions of life and faith. If you are someone who is gifted in caring for others, teaching others and praying for others, these roles might suit you.
Growth Groups
Our growth groups are hubs of connection and community, where God’s word is studied and people can pray for one another.

This team provides greater awareness of what God is doing in other corners of the globe and helps equip and encourage our church to serve and support global mission.
Prayer Support Team
This team helps keep prayer on the agenda by sending out prayer points and running prayer events through the year.
Mothers Union
Mothers Union members around the world volunteer to run various grassroots ministries focused on meeting families at their point of need.
We want to create great events that build up our church family and introduce people to Jesus.
We love to connect with people and celebrate the good things that God has given us in life and in Jesus. This requires people to use their creativity, event management skills, musical ability, their joy at starting conversations, advertising and many other gifts. Events might include:
Special church-wide festivals and services
Events to build community and connection in our church family
Events designed for outreach - to connect with our local community
