Mark 6 shows us the raw tragedy of humanity as Jesus is rejected by his family and John the Baptist is killed for petty reasons. And yet, Jesus has compassion on those without a shepherd. His divinity shines through as he speaks to us “have courage, it is I. Don’t be afraid.”
