Jesus shows us the ‘upside down’ nature of the kingdom as we seek to live for him. Various people come to Jesus in this passage with questions and requests for life and in each case Jesus shows them how the Lord ‘who came not to be served but to serve’ changes our perspective completely! It is worth saying, that one of the topics that Jesus speaks to is divorce. This is a hard topic and many of us have been effected by broken marriages. Mike will be taking some time to use Mark 10 and other passages to pastorally speak to this topic.
