We believe that infant baptism celebrates God's grace and looks forward to the day a child will personally trust in Jesus and publicly affirm that faith for themselves.

Because parents and godparents make significant promises on behalf of the child, infant baptism is for families who have a personal faith in Jesus, are actively involved in a local church, and are committed to raising their child to know and follow him. At Toongabbie Anglican, we offer infant baptism to active members of our church family.

We recognise that some Christian parents prefer not to baptise their children as infants, or may not yet be ready to make the promises involved in baptism. For these families, we are delighted to offer a dedication (or thanksgiving) service.

A dedication is an opportunity to thank God for your child, pray for them, and ask for God's help as you seek to raise them to know and follow Jesus.

We believe that baptism is a significant symbol of the good news of Jesus. It points to the forgiveness and new life we receive through faith in him (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:1–4; 1 Peter 3:21), and to our belonging in God's family, the church (1 Corinthians 12:13).

If you have decided to follow Jesus and have not yet been baptised, we'd love to talk with you. Our hope is to see many people publicly confess their faith in Christ through baptism each year.

Confirmation is for those who have already been baptised as an infant and would like to publicly affirm their faith in Jesus for themselves. It is an opportunity to declare your commitment to following Christ and to be encouraged by your church family. Confirmations are done by our regional bishop.

Recommitment is for those who have drifted away from Jesus but have returned to following him. It is an opportunity to publicly celebrate God's grace at work in your life and your renewed commitment to living for Christ.
